About the panels:

The first panel will discuss recent developments and the challenges of migration and labour market policies in the EU. What is the current situation and what are the next steps to be taken in EU immigration policy? What are the prospects of EU policy initiatives and programmes post-2013?

The second panel will discuss the challenges and opportunities of international migration in terms of the welfare state. How should welfare state and labour market institutions be reformed in response to increasing international migration? What would be an optimal immigration policy for Europe?
